Street Riots: Protesters set ablaze a passenger bus

The police officials said that the motorcyclist died shortly after the accident.

KARACHI: A crowd of people set ablaze a passenger bus on Sharae Faisal on Friday soon after it hit and killed a motorcyclist.

The residents of Wire Less Gate area gathered on the road to set fire to the bus of route No. D-7 (bearing number JE-5301), which had hit a man on a motorcycle within the limits of Airport police station. Following the accident, an extra contingent of the law enforcers reached the site and helped defuse the situation.

The police officials said that the motorcyclist died shortly after the accident.

The driver responsible for the accident managed to escape right after the accident took place, said the police, who have impounded the bus.

The case has been registered and further probe is underway.
