KOT MOMIN: Residents of Mohalla Ahmed Khan on Friday staged a protest demonstration in front of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) office to protest a breakdown of electricity supply.

The protestors blocked the Kot Momim-Sargodha Road and demanded that electricity be immediately restored.

They said a transformer that broke down 10 days ago had not yet been replaced.

The protest ended when MNA Mohsin Shahnawaz’s secretary assured the protestors that the transformer would be replaced.

SDO Rana Rasheed said 10 transformers in areas including Baldia Town, Chak 19 South, Mohalla Midh Ranjha and Mohalla Ahmed Khan had been damaged more than three months ago.

He said he had not been posted here at the time. “We have sent a report to senior officials concerned... What can we do until they send us new transformers?” he said.

“We will replace the transformers as soon as we receive them,” he added.
