Austerity drive: NESPAK stops vehicle purchase
Strict measures will be taken to keep tabs on unnecessary foreign visits.
LAHORE:
National Engineering Services of Pakistan (Nespak) Managing Director Amjad A Khan, immediately after taking over, has slapped a ban on purchase of new vehicles and withdrawn the additional fuel facility, provided to vice presidents and divisional heads without board approval. According to the spokesman for Nespak, the largest engineering consultancy firm in Pakistan with over 4,000 employees, Khan has announced a raft of austerity measures which also include establishment of a pre-audit cell that will ensure that all purchases are made in accordance with rules. The number of vehicles taken on rent will be curtailed and strict measures will be taken to keep tabs on unnecessary foreign visits. Khan has reconstituted the medical committee in an attempt to control health-related expenditures.
