The Inter Services Public Relations said the incident occurred at 11:50am in the Rakh Chakri area close to Rawla Koth. The soldier was identified as Sepoy Habib.
This incident followed the resolution against the unprovoked firing from the Indian army on the Line of Control that was passed in a session of the National Assembly earlier today.
This is the second time this week that the Indian army has started firing without provocation.
An officer was killed and a soldier was wounded by Indian firing along the disputed border in Kashmir on Tuesday in the Batal, Nakyal areas near Skardu.
The Pakistani army retaliated by firing as well. The exchange of bullets continued until 2am on Wednesday.
The Indian Army also violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control on Sunday, shelling civilian areas on the Pakistani side of the ceasefire line, according to residents and military sources.
Residents said the shelling from the Indian side had cut off villages in the Nakyal sector, leading to food and medicine shortages in the area. They added that they were also unable to shift the injured to Kotli for treatment.
Cross border violations from the Indian side had earlier injured three people in the locality.
Tension has been running high along one of the world's most militarised borders in Kashmir since August 6 when five Indian soldiers were ambushed and killed while on a patrol.

@Mask: holding your own against a country who's huge in population, strategic depth and military might is some achievement in itself. It was even in 1965 and when we surrendered in 1971, it was due to our anger and hate of Bengali population and logically speaking, East Pakistan was a separate country in War time due to no possible communication with West Pakistan but if i remember correctly, Indian army trained mukti bahini and then send them in East Pakistan. Doesn't it feel like that you people deserve your own treatment some time. :) A nuclear Pakistan who won't hesitate to use nukes in no win situation, You are not Israel or US and we are not Palestine.
So all Pak casualties are certainly because of 'unprovoked Indian firing' but all Indian casualties are due to 'alleged Pak response'? Comments on Indian casualties also accuse 'Indians of killing their own to malign Pakistan'.

Loss of life on either side is bad, and not to be condoned. But at least cover the story neutrally!
One thing needs to be understood that the exchange of heavy fire would only result in casualties on both sides. Tempers runs high on either side whose soldiers get killed or injured. The only mantra to stop this bloodshed is that Pakistan abandons its decades old policy of sending terrorists across the border inorder that this elusive peace returns back to this region. Nawaz Sharif needs to discuss this complex issue with military and give peace a chance which would help both countries to improve their economies as well as the lot of its people.

India started this conflict when they killed one Pakistani soldier and wounded another on August 3rd, 2013, a full 3 days before the Aug 6th attack. They killed our soldiers in cold blood, now they lie that we started it. Liars.

A Pakistan government organization started the recent border problem. Though civilian government has no control over them -- the whole country have to pay for it.

This firing can only be stopped if militants were stopped to send to Jammu. This is not 1990's India which can do nothing if Pakistan tries to send militants. I think if Pakistan does not stop then even more severe military and diplomatic steps will be taken.

@ModiFied: In the end, Pakistan doesn't kill any civilian on border and its the thing Indians do with pride. All the damage on Indian side is of military related but major suffering on our side are civilian. Even one resident of a nearby village was killed last week due to Indian shelling.

Truth needs to be told to Pakistani public about ceasefire violations and the real culprits behind all this. Indians are told that the Pakistani army pushes the militants inside India under the cover of firing and then only Indian army retaliates. Indian journalists often go to Indian side of LoC are report live. Any such efforts from Pakistani side to unearth the truth ?
