In the resolution, India was asked to hold dialogue and the firing was strongly condemned.
Captain Sarfaraz, who was killed due to the firing, was presented with a tribute in the same session.
The Pakistan Army has said that one officer was killed and a soldier was wounded by Indian firing along the disputed border in Kashmir on Wednesday.
The Indian army started firing at 11:15pm last night in the Batal, Nakyal areas near Skardu. The Pakistani army retaliated by firing as well. The exchange of bullets continued until 2am.
This is not the first time that Indian forces have been allegedly involved in unprovoked firing or shelling, the LoC that has seen allegations of cross-border firing from both sides in recent weeks.
The attack is the latest in a spate of recent cross-border skirmishes between the two neighbours.
The two sides agreed to a ceasefire along the LoC in November 2003, but skirmishes have flared across the heavily-militarised Line of Control (LoC), the de facto border in Kashmir, in recent weeks, with both sides blaming each other for having violated the agreement.

@Naveen: Actually the photo caption makes it very clear that this was a file photo. Apart from that information, it acknowledges that the soldier was trying to infiltrate - and this is raising a howl of protest from Pakistanis - read it if you have not checked it out.

I second your thoughts. Its sad that decisions are finalized somewhere else and all that these patriotic men get on the ground are 'orders'. On both side, everyone call their deceased soldiers, SHAHEED, with caption " Shaheed Zinda Rehta hae" Picture on both side, ALWAYS a BIG BELLY general, hands over ONE SOTI, ONE TOPI, THAT TOO on flag to father or mother of deceased soldier. What a pity that those old parents never meet again to their "ZINDAA REHTA HAE" Son or daughter. WILL I go to fight anyone? If I am given LOGICAL REASON. But This far, we never had any VALID or LOGICAL REASON TO FIGHT with anyone. Let both sides sit and share a cup of tea than TAKING A PANGAA.

Everyone including me, are busy bashing ET but to their credit, we get a very healthy discussion with our friends/non-friends across the border. I use to go to Indian sites to know their point of view but always had to "report" a lot of comments which were highly abusive which isn't the case with ET.

RIP captain. We just can't feel the pain of this old man who lost his son.Families of killed on Indian side would have suffered like him and i just hope we end this madness.
