Travelling hazards: Six dead, 15 hurt in road accident

The accident occurred as the coach driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to overtake another vehicle.

In a road accident, six people were killed and 15 passengers including women sustained injuries. A passenger coach, licence plate number LHO-4075, travelling on the Punjab-Karachi route overturned on National Highway near Pir Budhro at Sukkur-Nawabshah Road in Thari Mir Wah district, Kharipur, on Tuesday morning.


The accident occurred as the coach driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to overtake another vehicle.

The people killed in the accident included Muhammad Ismail, Sajjad Ali, Khalil Ahmed, Ashiq Hussain, while two casualties were still unidentified. The residents of Thari Mir Wah performed the last rites of the deceased.

After offering funeral prayers, their bodies were transported to their places of origin. The injured were shifted to Gambat, Ranipur and Thari Mir Wah hospitals. The police said that coach driver and conductor managed to escape from the scene. The police have impounded the vehicle.
