The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Quetta expressed annoyance over non-production of Pervez Musharraf before the court in Nawab Akbar Bugti’s murder case and directed authorities concerned to present him before the court in the next hearing.
The court also re-issued arrest warrants of former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and former Balochistan Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani.
ATC Quetta Judge Ismail Baloch heard Bugti’s murder case filed by his son Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti which is being heard in ATC on the orders of Balochistan High court (BHC).
During the hearing, former Balochistan interior minister Mir Shohib Nosharawani appeared before the court in person while the counsel for former federal interior minister Aftab Ahmed Sherpao
also appeared.
The judge expressed displeasure at Bugti’s murder investigating team over their failure to produce Musharraf for the hearing despite issuance of his production orders.
The investigation officer informed the court that the home department was working in this regard.
At this, the court while issuing order for production of former president Pervez Musharraf before the court on Sept 10, also reissued arrest warrants of Shaukat Aziz, Owais Ahmed Ghani and former District Coordination Officers (DCO) Dera Bugti Abdul Samad Lasi.
The court hearing was adjourned till Sept 10.
Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, former Chief Minister Balochistan and veteran Baloch nationalist leader, was killed in a military action on Aug 26, 2006 ordered by Musharraf who was president and army chief at the time.
