Attack on picket: Terrorist, two FC men killed in shootout

The militant killed in the encounter could not be identified. No group has claimed responsibility.

Two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel and an assailant were killed in a shootout near Burma Hotel on the busy Sariab Road on Sunday.


According to the FC spokesman, armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire on the FC check post near Burma Hotel, killing two FC men and injuring another. The FC men returned fire, killing one of the assailants and injuring another. The injured attacker managed to flee from the scene. The security forces rushed to the spot soon after the incident and cordoned off the area and started collecting evidence.

The deceased and injured were taken to the CMH Quetta. The deceased were identified as Lance Naik Akbar Hussain and sepoy Hazrat Ali and the injured as Hawaldar Aslam. The militant killed in the encounter could not be identified. No group has claimed responsibility.
