Love Trouble: Girl chooses parents over ‘friend'

RATODERO: Naudero police arrested Kamran Shah, a resident of Bannu, and Shabana Umrani, a resident of Shahdadkot, for trying to marry out of free will. When presented before the Larkana sessions court, Umrani refused to go with Kamran Shah and said she wanted to go with her parents. She further told the police that she ran away from her home as her parents were trying to marry her against her will. Umrani became friends with Kamran through Facebook, which eventually converted into love. After Umrani’s statement, Kamran was sent to a police lock-up. He told the police that they went to visit Bhutto leaders’ mausoleum at Garhi Khuda Bux and were intending to marry in the court when the police arrested them. He said he is disheartened by Umrani’s attitude who had previously promised to marry him. Naudero police released Shah after Umrani’s statement in the court as there was no case filed against him.
