KARACHI:

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to ensure fool-proof security arrangements for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U16 Championship qualifiers.

The eight-day event, starting on September 23, will be featuring teams from Iran, UAE and Sri Lanka besides Pakistan. However, PFF President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat urged PM Sharif to take personal interest in the matter as none of the relevant government authorities have responded to the PFF’s request to get the security plan for the event.

Hayat said that the PFF needs assurance from the federal and provincial governments to meet basic requirements for holding an international event.
