In yet another hearing of the missing persons case, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) asked the commandant of the Frontier Corps (FC) Mehsud Scouts and Sarband police station SHO to submit their replies.
The missing persons in question have been allegedly illegally detained in Bara, Khyber Agency since last year.
A two-member bench comprising Justices Nisar Hussain and Musarrat Hilali issued the directives in the case of two residents who were allegedly whisked away on October 19 last year from the suburban area of Sarban.
Tafseel Khan Afridi, counsel of petitioner Rehman Shah, told the court Akbar Ali and Gul Ahmad were in their car when they were picked up by security forces and the police. They were later handed over to the assistant political agent of Bara, he claimed.
“Their relatives approached the Sarband police station where they were told the police had no information on the whereabouts of these people,” Afridi told the court.
He said the family was informed through various sources that both Ali and Ahmad had been handed over to Bara’s APA on October 29, 2012 and their car was impounded and parked in the FC Headquarters in Hayatabad.
Following this, the court issued directives ordering FC Commandant Naeem Sarwar and the SHO submit their replies in the next hearing, which has yet to be scheduled.
