Drive-By Shootings: Amn Committee member shot dead

The deceased was a former activist of PPP.

KARACHI: A member of the outlawed Peoples Amn Committee (PAC) and an elderly milk trader belonging to the shia community were shot dead in separate incidents of drive-by shootings within the limits of Sacchal police station on Wednesday night.

Jabbar Burfat, 35, a member of PAC was shot outside his home in Safora Goth area, DSP Khalid Khan said. Burfat was a former activist of PPP.

Earlier, Safdar Hussain, 65, belonging to the shia community was gunned down in Bhittaiabad area.

Police officials said that deceased was associated with the milk business and was sitting near his home in Jamali Chowk when two men riding a motorcycle shot him multiple times and escaped.

In a similar incident on Tuesday night, two men associated with the milk business were shot dead in the same area. The police has not ruled out the link between the killings.
