Sources within the army said that the firing, which started at 8:50pm local time, targeted Pakistan army posts at Nanga Topa and one other location along the LoC.
The Pakistan army responded with prompt and effective action against the firing.
Earlier today, the Indian army had triggered an exchange of fire from both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) after violating ceasefire on two occasions, first near Sialkot and then near Kotli in the Nakial sector.
“Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing on Pakistani posts along the working boundary in Punjab and the LoC on Sunday,” said Foreign Office spokesperson Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry. “Pakistani troops responded with restraint and responsibility,” he added.
Talking to The Express Tribune, Aizaz stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire along the LoC. “The prime minister of Pakistan has stressed the need to optimally use and strengthen existing political and military channels to defuse tensions and establish peace,” he said.
“Pakistan wishes for durable peace in the region to create an environment conducive to economic development for the well being of the people,” he added.

i think india must hit back as strong as possible
both india and pakistan have similar views on these violations.just replace pakistan by india and vice versa in thier comments and you will have others comment.i'm not revealing my nationality here only because this will only lead to people not believing in me. whoever violates the ceasefire first, there are still some truths all indians and pakistanis have to believe in. 1.pakistan denied to take bodies of there soldiers during kargil war. 2.india is less afected by terrorism than pak.so pak needs to be more worried about them. 3.pakistan govt is more aggresive and is better in taking decisions.
Seriously no comments on about the killing and murdering of innocent solders by the Indian terrorist organisations just a few weeks ago ? Typical !! You take over what is not yours !! You kill, murder, kidnap and rape women on a daily bases in "OCCUPIED KASHMIR" and yet you claim to be the victims. Don't give up your day job ! There are far too many comedians running India as it is. Israel is backing India and we all know that. The thing you Indians do not realise is that once Israel has successfully started a war with Pakistan it will be your turn there after. I have no grudge against the Indian populous, it is the terrorist government that needs a slap across its face. STOP PLAYING POLITICS WITH HUMAN LIFE YOU RETARDS !!!
In this entire article, replace 'Pakistan' with 'India' and this is somewhat the TOI article reads. Reflects a lot about media standards in both countries :-)
whom to believe?? the indian media has completely different view.!! and given the fact that indian soldiers have been martyred, and our govts disgraceful record of fudging facts and hiding truth throughout history on directions of few powerful vested agencies, I would tend to believe what outsiders say rather than our govt. After all, we denied BL was here, we denied kasab and dawood were here, we denied kargil and everything the US, NATO and even the what the chinese have told us.. only to later backtrack and agree. I dont think it is wise to trust a word that comes out from our govt and agencies... rather we all should do searches from independent sources...
Pakistan rivalry given a new life, Kashmir issue made alive and Indian general elections approaching nearer. Is it just me or it really is a coincidence.
According to an Indian website Pakistan violated the ceasefire 5 times in 48 hours.

I think media is going crazy over ceasefire.
Both sides need to stop this non sense asap, before this snowballs into an actual war!
@ModiFied: Nobody is headed anywhere. Its just India headed straight towards the election year & this is the only issue their politicians can use to exploit the people over there. There will be a lot of war-mongering but nothings going to happen
What else can be expected from India except violations of international agreements???
In this game "Tit for Tat" would not be a smart move. Smart move is to ignore and protect your territory. There is strength and dignity in ignoring stupid provoking to get some points. Time for peaceful economic interaction is now. India has massive corruption, poverty and economic problems to overcome. India's reality is far different from perception created worldwide. Time for sustained peace.
India knows the international concerns want regional stability resolving all issues including Kashmir etc. This Indian act will further isolate India. Russia and China already are in Pakistan's favor.
Hey "Pakistani Media" Kindly stop showing indian contents, while they are killing our innocent civilians near border
