Keeping dynastic politics alive

Letter August 12, 2013
The nomination of women on reserved seats seems to be biased.

ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to Hasan Askari Riziv’s article “The politics of top political offices” (August 12). The writer has discussed important and relevant points with regards to governance. Regarding appointment of the president, the profile of the new president shows that he belongs to the industrialist class like prime minister. The new Punjab governor is also from the business class although his business is UK-based. He has no administration experience. The nomination of women on reserved seats also seems to be biased.

All these steps seem to be protecting the interests of our imperial class and are helping keep dynastic politics alive.
