Conditions apply: TTP again considers talks with govt
Says that now that Nawaz Sharif is in power “we will evaluate and see what his plans are.”
DERA ISMAIL KHAN:
The spokesperson for Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) Shahidullah Khan Shahid while talking from an undisclosed location said that TTP can consider an offer to negotiate if they (government) can give an assurance through religious leaders and scholars.
Shahid added that the government of Pakistan had turned away from agreements previously. Appealing to the religious scholars in Pakistan, the spokesperson for the banned outfit said that the religious scholars should issue a decree for Jihad in Syria and Burma for the “atrocities carried out against Sunni Muslims.”
The TTP spokesperson while talking about the negotiations hinted that Jamaat-e-Islami chief Munawar Hassan and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman “are good people” adding that now that Nawaz Sharif is in power “we will evaluate and see what his plans are.”
