Kurram Agency: Two killed, three injured in landmine explosions
Syed Noor accidently stepped on a landmine in Baghdi and sustained severe injuries.
PARACHINAR:
At least two people were killed and three others injured in three landmine explosions in various areas of Parachinar, the headquarters of Kurram Agency, on the first two days of Eid.
According to an official of the Parachinar Political Administration, on Friday a vehicle passed over a landmine, which had been planted by unidentified militants in Shakh.
The official said Mardan Ali and some family members were heading to Shakh from Parachinar when their vehicle passed over the landmine and killed Ali on the spot. His grandson Javaid Hussain and relative Laiq Hussain sustained injuries and were shifted to the agency headquarters hospital where Hussain succumbed to his injuries. In a separate incident on Friday, a shepherd stepped on a landmine in Pewar, an area near the Pak-Afghan border.
The injured tribesman identified as Asghar Ali was taken to a hospital where doctors had to amputate his leg. He was then referred to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.
In another incident on Saturday, Syed Noor accidently stepped on a landmine in Baghdi and sustained severe injuries. He was rushed to the hospital where his leg was amputated.
