"We will continue to work against the banned militant outfits," said SSP CID Raja Umar.
KARACHI:
An explosion took place in a police official's residence on Shahrah-e-Faisal on Sunday, Express News reported.
Initial reports suggest the explosion targeted SSP CID Raja Umar Khattab whose residence is near Saddar police station.
Earlier it was suggested that the explosion was caused by a hand grenade but police officials said that it was caused by a remote-controlled explosive.
"We will continue to work against the banned militant outfits," said SSP CID Raja Umar, adding that the attacks would not intimidate him.
This is the second attack that has targeted the senior police official.
SP Saddar Tariq Dharjo confirmed that no human lives were lost because of the explosion, which spread waves of panic in the area.
Express News correspondent Nadeem Ahmad said that the explosion left cracks in the walls of the nearby police station.
