No casualty: Hujra of former MPA blown up in Swabi

According to BDS five kilogrammes of explosives were used in the blast.

The hujra of a former MPA from the Awami National Party (ANP) was damaged when a bomb planted by unidentified militants outside the building exploded in Kalu Khan area of Swabi on Thursday.


Kalu Khan police official Bacha Syed said they heard a huge explosion on the outskirts of the village around 3am. Police officials rushed to the site to inquire about the nature of the incident and discovered the hujra of ex-MPA Asmatullah Khan had been targeted, he added.

The bomb, planted along one of the walls, destroyed the main gate and boundary wall, partially damaging the rest of the structure. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the family was in the house adjacent to the hujra.

The official said five kilogrammes of explosives were used in the blast according to the bomb disposal squad. A case has been registered against unidentified criminals.
