Infrastructure: Govt to use resources to bolster industry

All options are being explored to provide uninterrupted power supply to the industry, says minister.

ISLAMABAD: In order to strengthen the national economy, steps will be taken to set up industries across Punjab, and industrialists and foreign investors will be provided opportunities to invest in the country to boost the economy. These views were expressed by Punjab Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq, while talking to a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He said all options are being explored to provide uninterrupted power supply to the industry to ensure smooth growth and creation of more jobs. The federal as well as Punjab governments are focusing on alternate energy resources including solar, biomass, biogas and wind in addition to main electricity generation components of hydel and thermal, said Shafiq.
