Security Measures: Army gives security to Cantt station

The army was requested by Railway Inspector to increase security after the recent security threats.

KARACHI: In the aftermath of Shalimar Express blast at Toba Tek Singh on Monday, the Pakistan Railways has asked for Pakistan Army’s assistance. The army personnel equipped with sniffer dogs and explosive detecting equipment have been posted on the entrance and exit points at the Karachi Cantt station. The army was requested by Railway Inspector General Syed Ibne Hussain to increase security after the recent security threats. The army personnel are also deployed in the washing yard and the main gates to search people and their baggage. Karachi divisional superintendent Mehmood Lashari told The Express Tribune that the army is working closely with the Railways bomb disposal squad.
