Humera Javed, the headmistress at the Beaconhouse School System’s A’ level campus in Defence Housing Authority, believes that schools are meant for the overall development and grooming of students into well-rounded individuals in and out of the classroom.
A child could get good grades with the help of tutors while sitting at home, saving a lot of energy, time and money, she asserted. “At Beaconhouse, we provide students with just the right mix of academic exposure, social interaction and extracurricular activities with the space and means to work independently and in groups,” said Javed. “I can proudly state that our students are fully prepared to take on any challenge in life.”
Apart from career counselling at the time of admission that helps students with the subject options, students were also advised during the interview session to try at least one of the liberal arts subjects. “Students should at least have a feel of it as they can leave the subject after a month if they feel it to be too worrisome,” she said. “In this manner, students are guided towards a balanced, manageable and professional curriculum from the outset.”
