ISLAMABAD:

Since January, around 655 measles cases have been registered in Holy Family Hospital (HFH), of which 365 were from Rawalpindi and 61 from Islamabad.

In addition, 20 cases have been reported from other cities, according to a report issued by HFH.

HFH Spokesperson Dr Javed Hayat said that there has been a significant decline in the number of measles cases over the past few months.

“The hospital receives two to three cases a week,” he added.

Hayat advised parents to take care of their children during the rainy season, wherein disease outbreaks are more common.

Meanwhile, around 77 suspected cases of dengue fever have also been reported since the turn of the year, according to the report.
