The forest department will plant around 190,000 saplings across Attock district during the current monsoon season. Divisional Forest Officer Sajid Quddus told The Express Tribune that different kinds of plants will soon be available at nurseries in Khaliqdad, Shahpur dam and the Jand area at nominal prices. He said that saplings will be provided to armed forces and the education department free of cost.
“We must grow trees for clean environment and discourage deforestation as trees not only add to the beauty of the land but also create a clean and healthy environment,” Quddus said.
He said that a special campaign will be launched against illegal logging after Ramazan and the parties involved will be brought to book. He said that the timber stocks of all those involved in the business will be checked in line with existing rules to discourage illegal felling of trees, while the registration of all wood stalls will also be checked.

Good news but why other districts cannot provide saplings free of cost
Wonderful------wish we all would do whereever we are from up there to all the way down to Balochistan. Everyone of us must plant a sapling and help it grow up and become a tree, let's do it.
