Ajmal dropped one spot while Jadeja leapfrogged four to become only the fourth Indian bowler to top the ICC ODI bowlers’ rankings after Kapil Dev (March 1989), Maninder Singh (December 1987-November 1988) and Anil Kumble (December 1996).
Meanwhile, Mohammad Hafeez consolidated his eighth position to remain the other Pakistan bowler inside the top ten rankings. However, he slipped two places to fifth in the all-rounders’ ranking, while Shahid Afridi made a comeback by taking the seventh spot.
Pakistan ODI captain Misbahul Haq also dropped one place in the latest batsmen’s rankings, but managed to stay within the top ten, occupying the eighth position. Umar Akmal was ranked 13th.

ICC has made a mockery of these rankings. Jadeja is a third class bowler !
Biased
Fast track to the number position. ICC should should announce that it give all rankings to Indian team and Indian players beforehand.
Jadeja no 1 bowler .. lol u gotta be kidding me. That is an insult itself to the no.1 rank !
Just wait he will soon become the no 1 test bowler as well and of course T20
@Doctor: make a comparison between Pk and India and wee which team has won more matches outside home. Bunch of idiots ..
ICC should change its name to BCCI.
Hafeez was on top in bowler rating then you guys were like yes he is number 1 and bla bla.. he is even worse than medioker bowler, just part time. Instead of whinning tell you ajaml to take some wickets outside sub continent and we all have seen his performance in champions trophy where you compete against all top teams.
@Mazen. This is ICC ODI ranking not test. And of course Pakistan the pretournament favorite won all its matches at the recent Champions trophy so Ajmal should be number one... Bunch of losers who see conspiracy everywhere...
@vishnu dutta Yes. Jadeja only plays the top 4 teams like zimbabwe and west indies.no one is denying that jadeja has bowled well recently, but you can't compare him to ajmal yet, Ajmal is a top bowler in all formats.
@Mazen: Your argument speaks volumes of your knowledge of the ranking system.I suggest that this time you blame Ajmals drop to Reliance which sponsors the rating system & is owned by Indian Gujarati's.
Look who is benefitting from the Two Nation Theory.
Ajmal should stop whinning. He is a old hack at the best. He was shown his place by no 8 such as Narine in recent match. Jadeja only plays top 4 teams where as Ajmal built his career playing bangladesh, ireland, scotland, WI etc
This is BCCI conspiracy. Everybody knowing that Ajmal is Bradman of doosraing.
@Mazen: Jadeja may be an average bowler or whatever you can call him but ICC Ratings are Performance based. Jadeja has taken 38 wickets in his last 22 ODI games (England Series + Champions Trophy + West Indies Tri Series + Zimbamwe Tour). That is good going!
This ICC ranking is a farce: India became the World #1 test side back in 2011 playing all the test in its home. Then came 8-0 overseas thrashing prompting India's fall in ranking. And again India became the World #2 test side beating the weakest aussies at home but in spite of losing 2-1 at home. England is currently at # 3 even after beating India in India. I'm flabbergasted by this inane ranking system. And now Jadeja became the world #1. How in this world the likes of Jadeja becomes #1 bowler? It is beyond me. He is just an average bowler but still.....
