Ajmal slips to five in ICC ODI rankings

Misbahul Haq at number 8 in batsmen, and Hafeez at number 8 in all-rounders in the ICC ODI rankings.

LONDON: Pakistan star spin bowler Saeed Ajmal sank one spot to rank fifth in the top bowlers according to International Cricket Council (ICC) One Day International rankings released on Sunday, Express News reported.

Current Twenty20 captain and Pakistan opener Muhammad Hafeez was ranked eighth in all-round cricketers in the ICC ODI rankings.

Pakistan ODI and Test captain Misbahul Haq was ranked eighth in the top ICC batsmen.

India’s Ravindra Jadeja has jumped four places to now become the joint top ODI bowlers in the latest ICC ODI rankings announced on Sunday.

Jadeja's career-best rating of 733 has him tied for the pinnacle spot with West Indies spinner Sunil Narine, New Delhi Television reported.

Pakistan now stands at number six overall with 4,294 points in the ICC ODI rankings, lagging behind India, Australia, England, Sri Lanaka and South Africa.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly indicated that Ajmal had risen to fifth position.
