Energy crisis: Clearing circular debt reduced shortfall to 3,000MW, PM
PM says government has made a 25 year long term plan to generate 50,000MW to end the energy crisis in the country.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that the government has settled the Rs480 billion circular debt issue and is now able to generate 1700 megawatts (MW) of additional power after this payment.
He was addressing a gathering here after attending a briefing of the Rs60 billion Pakistan Power Park, set to generate 660 MW of electricity at Gadani. The electricity shortfall has declined to 3000MW since the country can now manage to generate 16,170MW of electricity against a demand of 19,000 MW, said the prime minister.
