PESHAWAR:

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Traders Association, among others, on Thursday termed the increase in the price of electricity and petroleum “perilous” for the industrial and trading sectors.

They urged the government to withdraw the increase immediately.

Yet another increase will not only hurt the business community but would make the lives of low-income populations harder as the electricity subsidy has also been withdrawn, said KPCCI President Dr Muhammad Yusuf Sarwar.

The industrial sector already faces high interest rates, costly imports for industrial input and a high cost of utilities – all of which have caused many industrial units to be shut down, said Sarwar.  “We cannot accept any further increase,”
he added.

As well knows industrialists, Sharif's and Daar's know the trick. They wish to creat all such hikes to increase production cost and multiply their profits with resultant increase in price.
