Amir files appeal against suspension

KARACHI: Paceman Mohammad Amir has filed his appeal against the suspension imposed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) following spot-fixing allegations on the tour of England.

While the ICC has refused to confirm or deny the news, Amir’s lawyer, Shahid Karim, said that the appeal has been filed.

“I filed a formal appeal for Amir and the ICC is expected to announce the hearing date soon,” Karim told The Express Tribune adding that the fast-bowler has asked the ICC to hold the hearing into the case soon while also seeking clearance to resume playing international cricket.

According to reports,  Mohammad Asif has also filed his appeal but no confirmation has been received.
