@salaf: Totally agree with you but never in Pakistan nationwide with the foolproof security arrangements most especially importantly in Shia community of Pakistan......
can we have a special day to commemorate the martyrdom of imam umar, imam abu bakr and imam uthman (ra) who was married to two of the prophet's (saw) daughters?
All lines of communication should remain open, where terrorism is feared, because it is easier to trace back calls to the suspected terrorists. When cellphone services are down, the terrorists will use alternative means to communicate which would make it difficult to catch the terrorists
@what: I am happy that you already knew about Hazrat Ali (RA) by being a Muslim plus a Pakistani. Now that you know more by knowing that his day of martyrdom is commemorated by Pakistani muslims on 21st of Ramazan each year, I can only say JazzakAllah Khair!
Sometimes I feel like Lashkar e Jhangvi associates are commenting on these sites. If you can't eliminate all of these killers roaming free then it is better to suspend the phone service as thats what they use to detonate these bombs. Last big one was when they attacked Justice Baqar, another Shia by the way. If these services are really that critical then you must tell your brethren to not use them to explode bombs.
@R Singh: @What: @Javeria Mahmood:
Imam Ali Ibne Abi Talib was attacked by the assasin Ibne Muljim during the morning prayer on the 19th day of the month of Ramadhan. Ibne Muljim struck Imam Ali's head with a poisionous sword. The wound proved to fatal and led to the demise of Imam Ali Ibne Abi Talib on the 21st day of the month of Ramadhan.
Each year during the month of Ramadhan the 19th to 21st day is commomorated as Youm-e-Ali or the Day of Imam Ali. These days of sadness are commomorated all around the world where Muslims live.
Imam Ali Ibne Abi Talib is a universal personality, he is not just exclusive to the Muslims. Let's please learn from his teachings to broaden our persectives and become tolerant human beings.
@Aschraful Makhlooq: So you are suggesting that Pakistani govt. should not provide security to its "few" citizens.
@Kulwant Singh: Cell phones are commonly used by militants to set off IEDs. Suspending cellphone service helps to avoid such blasts.
@Danish: I'm sorry but if someone doesn't know about youm e Ali and wants to know, it doesn't make that person a sinner but anyway thanks for the dual may ALLAH guide you as well.
@all of you who think I'm a fool I'm AlhumduLLiah a Muslim plus I live in Pakistan. Just because I didn't know what you e Ali was doesn't mean I don't know about hazarat Ali (RA).
@R Singh Sorry, on 19th of Ramadan he was attacked and passed away on 21st of Ramadan.
@what: Thanks for standing up for me whoever you are:-) :-) :-)
@Ghani: Thanks but I'm a Muslim living in pakistan .
My cell phone network haven't been jammed as yet. Maybe this time it is only for the adjoining areas of the procession's route.
@Javeria Mahmood:Even you would always be unable to understand it that why such these types of activities are performed?
@Kulwant Singh: Just to provide security to few Shia people and to tense,to create problems and difficulties in the other nation's life although temprarily but Pakistani government has considered it obligatory to do......
@Ghani: Assuming that you are a non-muslim living outside Pakistan, it is the day (21st of Ramazan) when the fourth Caliph of Islam Hazrat Ali (RA) was martyred. @A2Z: On 19th Ramadan Hazrat(R.A.) passed away, so it is called Youm-e-Ali. Our media rating hungry media won’t tell you about Youm-e-Ali but it is in the news due to the ban on mobile services.
Guys please don't confuse us poor non-muslims, which day of ramzan is it? 19/21
@Ghani: The word "Youm-e-Ali" sounds like an Urdu word. If so, is it observed only in Pakistan?
@ Abbasi: I am not trying to be over smart. Not everyone is well-versed on various religious occasions which happen from time to time. Seems like you know the religion too well, just like your TV show host Mr. Amir Liquat!
@what@Javeria such arrogance
Allah apko hidayat de
@ What
you are from an alien world , I am sure!! or just trying to be oversmart.
@what: Well I am also unable to understand this.... I have not witnessed this day last year....
Nothing changed except faces. Nisar replaced Rehman.
The martyrdom/death anniversary of Hazrat Ali (RA).
Youm e ali is commemorated by muslims all over the world. on this day the Bravest man on earth was martyred while he was performing fajar prayers.

We hope that the suspension of mobile services is not increased on the pattern of Rehman Malik, who had his grey traffic business getting direct benefit from suspension of mobile services.
Can anyone tell me what's youm e Ali?
