LAHORE: A consumer court on Tuesday issued a notice to a proprietor for September 19 on a suit seeking damages of Rs100,000 for allegedly selling a defective air cooler. Petitioner Imran Tajammul said he had purchased the cooler for Rs12,500 on May 25. He said the respondent had given him a two-year warrantee on the motor and the pump of the cooler. Tajammul said the cooler leaked water from the first day but the proprietor never replaced or fixed it. He said his child got sick because of the water leakage and he had to spend money for his treatment. He asked the court to direct the respondent to pay him Rs100,000 for stress and the money he spent on his child’s treatment. The respondent did not answer the calls from The Express Tribune.
