Two employees of a multinational company were reportedly kidnapped by unidentified persons in Esorhe village, North Waziristan Agency on Wednesday.
An official of the political administration said Khan Daraz and Madad Gul, employees of Pepsi, had travelled to a small business in Mirali to supply bottles of the beverage to the owner. On their way back to Bannu, unidentified armed men intercepted their vehicle and took both men hostage at gunpoint, leaving the car behind.
The political administration official added a pedestrian later spotted the abandoned vehicle. He informed the political administration and khasadar officials after which a search operation was launched in the area. However, the men were nowhere to be found and no arrests were made till the filing of this report.
According to the official, the men were taken to an unknown place by the abductors and their whereabouts are not currently known. He added both Daraz and Gul used to travel from Bannu to Mirali and Miranshah in a van to supply Pepsi to local businesses.
