KARACHI: A Little Easier, A Little More Beautiful is an exploratory film that documents the voices of a diverse group of workers who make everyone's lives a little easier and hence a little more beautiful in Pakistan's biggest and busiest city.

“We’ve come to Karachi because the floods destroyed our farms. We live in a room with 10 people, and it doesn’t have a fan,” say construction workers, Mazhar and Abdul Ghaffar, speaking about the troubles of the working class in the country’s biggest metropolis and economic hub.

“I came from Afghanistan during Ziaul Haq’s rule. Making Naan is the only thing I know,” says Abdullah, a baker working in the city.

Completed this year on May Day, the film highlights the challenges of workers who migrate to Karachi from other parts of the country in search of work, and those who have come to the city in search of relative safety from Afghanistan.

@Sattar rind ,

I beg to differ, The population of Karachi grew almost two fold during last 12 years from 12 million to 21 million people, biggest growth in rate and in number in the world, if Karachi didnt offer greener pasture why did the people from all over Pakistan come and settle down in Karachi with such high numbers ???
