Rail passengers: Fare cut covers all classes

LAHORE: Pakistan Railways (PR) announced that fares of trains for all classes, including the economy class, have been reduced, saying that the news which was previously published in a local daily on Sunday was not based on facts. A PR spokesman on Sunday announced that the department has reduced the fares of A/C Sleeper, A/C Business and A/C Standard of specific trains. However, the fares for economy classes have been reduced for all trains and the minimum fare has been set at Rs20. He said the reduced fares would enable PR to attract more passengers. He said that the main priority of PR was to facilitate its customers and that it would do so whenever the circumstances permitted.
