According to the report, Pakistani troops allegedly used mortars, RPGs and heavy machine guns to fire at a BSF post at Hiranagar in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir leading to heavy firing exchanges.
Officers of the Army and BSF said that Head Constable Baljeet Singh from the 68 Battalion was injured in the firing and had to be hospitalised.
Indian officers claimed that Pakistan had committed two ceasefire violations, with Pakistani troops firing at the Indian Army posts in Poonch sector near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir earlier in the day.
"Pakistani troops have targeted Indian posts by firing rocket projectile grenades (RPGs) and heavy machine guns along LoC in Doda Battalion forward area in Poonch district since 0730 hours today," a senior Army officer said.
Indian troops retaliated effectively, resulting in heavy exchanges which were on for five hours, the officer said.
According to India, this is sixth ceasefire violation in July this year.

@Wajid: "Its advanced brain, and not advanced weapons, which wins a war."
Which is perhaps why you lost all wars you started...
Indians are liars
@darbullah: Yeah. And on the other hand, Indian Army should try to win over unarmed Kashmiris before even dreaming about facing a professional army. As far as guns are concerned, they may as well be plastic toys. In our shops, we have toy guns that look more advanced than those shown in the pics. But who cares? Its advanced brain, and not advanced weapons, which wins a war.
Pakistani Army should first win against the ragtag militants before trying to challenge a professional army.

@Max: "For an army that mistakes planets for spy drones on its Chinese borders, God knows what mistakes it makes on the Pakistani border."
It was a lance naik that saw an unidentified object and reported it. The army instead of ignoring it got it checked out by a scientific body. IT is not as though they made allegations based on the lance naik's word. Compare that with your army which failed to recognize intrusion of air space in Abbotabad. Failed to challenge an alien army that was bombing your soldiers at Salala. Despite claiming that drones are a violation of Pakistan sovereignty, has failed to respond for 9 whole years.
Any good inteligence agency will get many tips that are false positives. They need to be investigated and set aside. Ignoring the tips will lead to a situation where legitimate tips are also not acted upon.
In any case what would you prefer, checking something out that seems like a drone but isn't or ignoring what is definitely a drone and rains down on your population for 9 years at a stretch?
well i can only say that i like the modern look of India's BSF troops with high tech gun, radio collar, walkie, spects wao seems India's futuristic soldiers plan silently talking shape and this seems to a trailer.
@Max: Hmmmm....God knows what kind of Army is Pak Army who surrenders before such an army who mistakes planets for spy drones.....
@Dabeer: Please let me know how it is so clear to your that it is Indian side who violated the agreement?? How many times your army has lied to the world and how many times Indian army has lied to the world?? can you atleast site one incident where Indian side issued an official statement and later it was proved wrong??
Always love Pak Army....hardly like ET
Pakistanis and Indians need to look at this. It was during Nawaz Sharif's time that Kargil invasion happened. Nawaz Sharif is doing the same mistake again. Pakistanis be prepared to suffer more under your fail leadership. India has always wanted to be in peace with its neighbour but the evil politicians have fooled their countrymen more than enough times to fill their own bank accounts. Wake Up!

ET: Thanks for making the readers believe it was Pakistan's fault!
Let's see the evidence, India. Talk is always cheap.
Please India and Pakistan stop this madness.
india came to know hours after the incident that their man is also injured. Its a rubbish news to distract pakistan from the voilation of indian army at border and pakistan has also given our army's lives in hand of indian army. Why can't pakistan reply the same way?
For an army that mistakes planets for spy drones on its Chinese borders, God knows what mistakes it makes on the Pakistani border.
There’s always something fishy when a country immediately claims the other had violated so and so ceasefire. Lies. that’s what.
Correct!
India reported the news 2+Hrs BEFORE pakistan and your tribune paper did, so YES you can claim that the fishy thing is from the one who reported later .
There's always something fishy when a country immediately claims the other had violated so and so ceasefire. Lies. that's what.
ET why are you showing the indian side statement regarding the firing when clearly it is india that violated the loc. Guess you need to be working in india
