He finished among the top 10 in the league’s mixed doubles individual player rankings after registering 35 wins from 71 games in his second WTT season — his career-best show so far.
While Aisam finished in 13th position in the men’s doubles player ranking with 33 wins from 72 games, his ATP doubles partner Jean-Julien Rojer took the top spot with 66 wins out of 111 games.
Aisam’s team, Texas Wild, had qualified for the WTT Western Conference Championship (WCC) playoff after outplaying Sacramento Capitals 22-18, but failed to reach the final.
Aisam lost his men’s doubles set, partnering Alex Bogomolov 5-1, to the Lasers, who fielded Rojer and Rik De Voest.
Texas Wild finished second in the WCC with nine wins of 14 matches, while the Lasers will now play defending champions Washington Kastles tomorrow.
Aisam said he would resume his ATP circuit next week, and play at least two tournaments before the US Open.
“I’ll play in Washington and Montreal now,” Aisam told The Express Tribune. “I’ll be training hard for the next couple of weeks. The league was a good experience. The highlight for me was defeating John McEnroe in New York this week.”
