Population Secretary Altaf Aizad Khan said on Friday that the entire administrative machinery of the government was monitoring arrangements of Ramazan Bazaars to ensure availability of essential goods at low prices.


He was inspecting Ramazan Bazaars across the city. DCO Najam Ahmad Shah and other officers were also present. Khan visited Gulistan Colony Chowk, Usman Town, Millat Road, Fawara Chowk, Saleemi Chowk Satiana Chowk and other areas to check the arrangements.

He directed relevant officers to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities. He also checked the scales used by shopkeepers. He expressed his satisfaction over the cleanliness, security, establishment of medical camps and complaint centres in these bazaars. The DCO apprised Khan of the details of the arrangements. He said a public monitoring system had been introduced under which the code of Ramazan Bazaars and general complaints were publicised for awareness of citizens. He said people could send their complaints via SMS.
