Fatal find: One killed, six injured in mortar explosion

Security forces launched a search operation following the incident.

KHAR: A boy was killed and six others were injured when a mortar shell exploded in Kausar area of Khar, the headquarters of Bajaur Agency, early Friday morning. Political administration official Khalid Khan said a group of seven boys were sitting in a field when one of them spotted a mortar shell lying nearby. They rushed towards it and tried to dig out the shell, which was half buried in the ground. However, just as the boys dug it out, the shell exploded and injured all of them, added Khan. Abu Bakr died on the way to a hospital while two others were referred to Lady Reading Hospital due to their critical condition. Security forces along with khasadar personnel and Bajaur levies launched a search operation following the incident.
