ISLAMABAD:

Managing Director Maripur Petroleum Limited Lt General (Retd) Raza Ahmad on Tuesday informed Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit- Baltistan Affairs Chaudary Barjees Tahir that there were chances of the presence of oil reserves in some areas of Azad Kashmir especially Mangla and Mirpur.

During his meeting with the federal minister at the latter’s office, he said India was exploring oil and gas from occupied part of the territory, and geologists from Pakistan should be allowed to work to make the picture clear at this side.

Raza further informed that an Italian company with expertise in the field is interested to work on the project.

The federal minister appreciated the efforts of the director and said that as an independent government was running in Azad Kashmir, the federal government could only make a written request to them so that the matter could be discussed in the council’s next session.

Wow, what a banal and waste of space type of comment, seems you wrote a longer paragraph than the actual story. . This has nothing to do with India, the gentleman simply pointed out that since India was getting a move on in finding oil in Occupied Kashmir, Pakistan should check if there was any oil in AJK, too. . Your perverse, Pakistanphobic, trollish view is completely baffling and I sincerely hope you grow up and get a life... . And yes, mineral exploration should be encouraged. ET's coverage of the PPL finds in Sindh have kept me up to date and optimistic on that end.
