Energy crisis: PESCO asks public to conserve power

Petrol pumps, plazas and shop keepers must avoid usage of decorative lights.

PESHAWAR: Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has requested the public to conserve energy to help overcome load-shedding and frequent breakdowns during Ramazan. As per the directions of the federal government Pesco is trying its best to avoid load-shedding during the specific timings in the whole province, but in addition to government efforts, Pesco approached its customers to help overcome the crisis by adopting energy conservation measures, said a press release on Wednesday. Pesco has requested its customers to conserve maximum energy to help overcome the current energy crisis. Petrol pumps, plazas and shop keepers must avoid usage of decorative lights. Domestic consumers are requested to use energy savers instead of bulbs and must press their clothes in the day time besides keeping the thermostat of air conditioners at 26 degrees. The press release further said that despite difficulties Pesco is striving to overcome power outages and the company would leave no stone unturned to provide uninterruptible power supply to the customers.
