KHAR: Salarzai tribal elders on Wednesday were banned from sheltering non-locals in the area. This was decided by elders of various tribes in a Grand Jirga. Malik Younas, a tribal elder, said the jirga had decided not to favour militants. Younas further said anyone found in violation of the consensus would pay a fine up to Rs1,000,000, as per the jirga’s decision. Another elder, Anwarzeb Khan, said tribesmen in violation of these axioms would be treated in accordance with tribal traditions. Khan said the establishment of peace was only possible if everyone played their due roles. The local elders assured the political administration of their cooperation in this regard.
