Reckless driving: Three killed, eight injured

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Three people were killed while eight others were injured when a dumper truck rammed into a passenger coach on Bannu-DI Khan Road near Sidra Sharif on Monday, said a Yarak police official. The truck was en route to Bannu city when the incident occurred, he said. “The passenger coach was hit from the front and completely crushed.” The deceased were identified as Dinya Zada, Muntazar and seven-year-old Umar Farooq. Muntazar and Farooq died on the spot while Zada died on her way to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital. The injured, Razai Noreen, Bushara Bibi, Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Hussain, Amjid, Ajaz Khan, Abdul Rashid and Waqas, were also rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Yarak police SHO Ashraf Khan and other police personnel reached the scene following the incident and impounded the truck. The truck driver managed to escape and the police have filed an FIR against him.
