Defence B Police: SHO told not to harass petitioner

Shazia Shoaib said that the Defence B SHO was harassing her and delaying the kidney donation procedure.

LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge has directed the Defence B station house officer not to harass a woman, after she alleged that the police officer was preventing her getting a kidney transplant from her sister. The petitioner, Shezray Javaid Iqbal, told the court that she had a kidney disorder and was being treated at the National Hospital and Medical Centre in the Defence Housing Authority. Her sister Shazia Shoaib had agreed to donate one of her kidneys and doctors had approved the procedure. She said that the Defence B SHO was harassing her and delaying the procedure. The text of the petition did not explain how he was doing so or why. The petitioner said she could die if she did not receive an immediate transplant and asked the court to direct the SHO not to harass her. The court duly passed such instructions. Defence B SHO Abdul Wahid said that he had taken over the post only a few days ago and was not aware of the case. The previous SHO, Muhammad Raza, said he was not aware of any such case either.
