Presidential elections: Justice Wajihuddin eyes president’s seat

Justice Wajihuddin has obtained nomination papers as a candidate for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

KARACHI: Five candidates aspiring to contest the upcoming presidential elections have obtained nomination papers from the office of the registrar of the Sindh High Court. Registrar Abdul Malik Gaddi on Friday said that the nominations papers had been received by a former judge of the Supreme Court Justice Wajihuddin Ahmed, Irshad Mehboob, Muhammad Shakir, Mustafseer Hussain Bukhari and Muhammad Aslam Khan. Justice Wajihuddin has obtained nomination papers as a candidate for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The polling for the election of the head of the state will be held at Sindh Assembly between 10am and 3pm on August 6, according to a schedule provided by the Election Commission of Pakistan. The last date to file nomination papers with the returning officers in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta is July 24. Furthermore, scrutiny will be held in Islamabad on July 26. The last date for withdrawal is July 29, when the final list of contestants will be made public.

Wajihuddin Ahmed and Salimuzzman Siddiqui are pretty good candidates. Readers, please enlighten.

Wajihuddin Ahmed or Salimuzzaman Siddiqui are more suitable candidates than Raza Rabbani and other possibe contenders.
