Breach: Village, agricultural lands inundated

The residents informed the irrigation officials, who rushed to the scene and stopped water supply.

SUKKUR: Hundreds of acres of agricultural land and an entire village came under water after a 40-feet-wide breach developed in Faiz Bux distributary at RD-57 near Dari Lanjvani village, Kotdiji district. The residents informed the irrigation officials about the breach, who rushed to the scene and stopped water supply to the distributary from Bhurgari regulator to decrease the pressure of water. Later, the irrigation officials with the help of the residents plugged the breach. According to irrigation officials, Faiz Bux distributary originates from Bhurgari regulator from the Mirwah breach, which is the main branch of Khairpur Feeder East originating from Sukkur Barrage.
