Last month, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) had declared Islam's intermediate degree as fake after it was found out that Faisalabad's Intermediate Board was set up in 1988 whereas Islam's degree dates back to 1987.
The HEC informed the court that Sarwar's degree had been discredited, though a final decision from the Bahawalpur University syndicate, while those of Islam and Qaisrani were fake.
The court then directed the de-notification of the two MPAs.
The tribunal withheld its decision on the degree of Maiza Hameed, a Member of the Parliament from PML(N), and ordered HEC to verify the degree of another MP - Zaib Jaffar - with the Punjab Assembly.

@Aysha M: "Can somebody please answer my question?" If you are hoping for someone to cite your favorite political party, try to recall the name of the Minister of Religious Affairs who submitted to the election commission his BA degree in Islamic Studies issued by a now known degree mill, Trinity College and University (based in Spain but incorporated in Dover, Delaware, USA. He also claimed to hold a Masters degree and a PhD from the same university. On 13 June 2006, the Higher Education Commission, declared that his degree was not authentic and was not recognized. Having said that, let me also state that I enjoy your comments in ET and your die-hard dedication to a particular group. But in the end, what matters is our love for truth and our concern for our people; all of them.
The most disturbing example of fake degree is sitting in the president house. No action taken either by any courts or election commission. So when the head of the state is corrupt by all standards then what can one expect from legislators
NA BADLA HAY PUNJAB NA BADLAIN GAY PAKISTAN PML (N) - Sheikh Waqas disqualified due to fake degree, rewarded ticket for NA to his father. Sheikh Waqas can be seen on TV talk shows represeting PML(N)
NAYA PAKISTAN PTI - If any person found guility - would be disqualified for ever and management will take disciplianry action against him.
@Mirza: Yes, very disappointing, PTI is just more of the same
@Aysha M: Can somebody please answer my question? Do we have a political entity in our country which has a proper mechanism of screening the credentials of their party ticket holders before they go into elections? Is there any political party that has none of its legislators booked for fake degree?
Looks like the slogan of Naya (new) Pakistan is taking a nap with the foreign royalties and richest people in the world. As long as the same old career politicians move from one part to another nothing would change. People wanted to hear the false slogans without thinking.
Has anyone checked the degrees of the members of the judiciary?
De-notification alone is not sufficient. There should be criminal charges against these crooks.
Is there any political party with legislators with no fake degrees?
