QUETTA:
At least five people, including two Levies personnel, were killed in operations against criminals in Qilla Abdullah and Naseerabad districts of Balochistan on Wednesday.

In the first incident, a Levies official and two dacoits died in a firefight in Naseerabad.

According to officials, the Levies team intercepted unidentified armed men looting a passenger coach travelling from Gandawah to Jacobabad. The bandits opened fire, and the security personnel retaliated. Three lives – that of Levies officer Abdul Nabi and the two dacoits, Miyhal Khan and Manthar Mangi – were lost immediately. Sources said that both criminals were brothers.

Meanwhile, two men were killed while two others were injured when security forces raided a house in Gulistan area of Qilla Abdullah.

According to sources, the Anti Terrorist Force, Balochistan Levies, and the police acted on a tip-off to raid the house, from which they recovered a significant quantity of weapons, including three Kalashnikovs, three magazines and two TT pistols.

The accused on the premises opened fire, to which the security personnel retaliated. Consequently, security official Ahmed Khan and alleged criminal Amanullah were killed.
