Child custody: Court orders production of baby girl

GUJRANWALA: Additional Sessions Judge Shahid Zameer on Tuesday ordered an Edhi centre in charge to produce a 14-day-old girl allegedly abandoned by her father at the centre. The baby’s mother, Parveen, a resident of Tatlay Aali, has submitted in her petition that her husband, Abdul Sattar, had beaten her and kicked her out. She prayed the court for the child’s custody. Sattar was called to the court, where he said he had abandoned the baby at the centre as he could not look after her. The court then ordered the Edhi centre in charge to produce the girl on Wednesday (today).
