Facilities for commuters: City Railway Station to be revamped

The minister restored Badr Train’s stop at Farooqabad station with immediate effect.

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique and senior railway officials paid a three-hour inspection visit to the City railway station on Sunday. The minister directed the authorities to prepare a master plan for rehabilitation and restoration of the railway station as a historical site. Rafique said traditional Lahore food and snacks like gol guppay and pahoray should be available at the station. He also directed the authorities to prepare a proposal for setting up a food court and crafts centre at the station. Rafique also directed the authorities to upgrade service. He said the number of waiting rooms at every platform should be increased. The minister restored Badr Train’s stop at Farooqabad station with immediate effect.
