LAHORE: District Coordination Officer Naseem Sadiq approved a Rs23.06 billion budget for the city district government for the year 2013-14 on Saturday. Sadiq gave the approval in a meeting at his office. The meeting was attended by the Finance executive district officer, the Planning district officer and a representative of the Finance Department. Finance EDO Suleman Ghani said that Rs19.14 billion had been earmarked for non-development schemes and Rs3.25 billion had been set aside for development schemes. “Forty-four per cent of the non-development budget will be spent on education, 8 per cent on health and 18 per cent on cleanliness,” he said.
