Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said the provincial government will fully support the decision of keeping markets and business centres closed after dusk to save electricity if other provinces agree to it as well.
Khattak met a delegation of local industrialists who called on him at his office on Thursday to discuss problems faced by them and possible measures for the revival and development of the industrial sector in the province, according to an official handout. The delegation was led by Frontier Steels Chief Executive Noman Wazir and other prominent industrialists.
Addressing participants of the meeting, the chief minister announced the government had decided to hand over all industrial states to the private sector and would provide them with cheap electricity.
“Necessary instructions and guidelines have been given to the concerned authorities to implement the decision so that closed or weakened industrial units can be revived and employment opportunities created in K-P,” said Khattak.
The chief minister also said his government would introduce basic reforms in all sectors. He assured the delegation the government would resolve the problems faced by industrialists on priority basis.
The delegation members appreciated the government’s reform agenda and extended their support.
